In support of this national response, this project is undertaking the following areas of work: 1. Analysing transmission dynamics of Covid-19 2. Analysing progression of the Covid-19 infection 2. Investigating relationship between underlying health conditions and severity of symptoms 3. Identifying group of individuals at significant risk of increased morbidity from COVID-19

Public benefit statement

Specifically this project aims to 1. Investigate spatial differences in outbreak dynamics of Covid-19 2. Identify individuals most at risk of Covid-19, by better understanding symptoms linked to underlying health conditions 3. Analyse the association between the progression of the Covid-19 infection, symptoms, and comorbidities 4. Build a machine learning model for predicting COVID-19 cases based on combinations of symptoms Anticipated outcomes of the project are: 1. Improved understanding of how the virus spreads across different parts of the UK 2. Predictive model allowing for differentiating between individuals with and without Covid-19 3. Improved understanding of risk factors for Covid-19 4.
